Role: To qualify for an initial Home Inspector Certification in West Virginia, an individual must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, clear the state/federal background check, and complete a rigid, synchronous training framework:
- The Annual Renewal Window
West Virginia home inspector certifications operate on an annual renewal cycle, expiring on the last day of the practitioner’s anniversary month. To successfully maintain active, compliant credentials, independent operators must log and submit proof of 16 total hours of approved Continuing Education (CE) every 12 months. (Note: Unlike the initial 80-hour pre-licensing track, the state explicitly allows these ongoing 16 annual CE hours to be completed via self-paced, asynchronous online learning.)
